☀️ Virtual Sundance 2022 Form 💃🏼
Sundance Film Festival cancelled its in-person festival (January 20-30, 2022) last week, so we have a lot of housing slots that are flying around in Park City, Utah across a number of houses. A number of us are still going to watch the virtual movies together, while cooking, coworking and skiing in a covid-safe manner. But a good number of original holders are willing to sell their slots for reasonable offers.
Please fill out this form if you are interested in.
To give a rough sense of what people are looking to recoup: the original rates for Sundance housing for first half rate is about $100-125/person/night for a room with >2 people (e.g. bunkbeds, trundles), and $150+/person/night in a room with 2 people (one queen/king bed or two twins, so $300+ for a private room), and $185+/person/night in a room with a queen/bed and a private bathroom (so $370+ for the room). Rates were generally *slightly* lower second half.
In addition, if you are not taking a whole house for the crew, there will be a nightly cost on top of the housing. This includes food, cleaning, car rentals to run errands, any damage to the house, travel subsidies for people who are helping make everything run, discounts for the people who help cook dinner/breakfasts. WE DO NOT KNOW THE COST UNTIL THE ENTIRE TRIP IS OVER and you will likely get your follow up bill in mid-May once all the cost are calculated. This likely will be around $30/head/night in 2022 to cover the costs for running the entire operation and discounts for the various people across the houses who are helping out.

None. So not bringing
Have 'em, bringing. (Detail below)
Have. But not bringing
Have some, may or may not bring depending on childcare situation at Sundance or at home.
Not at present. But who knows between now and January 2022?
Who referred you?
How long have you been coming to "Sundance" with this group?
Never been. This would be my first time.
Once or twice. Loved it.
Been to Sundance, but not with you guys! I've learned my lesson.
A number of times, but might have missed a few in recent years.
Can't remember a time when I wasn't coming to Sundance with y'all
How many days are you thinking of coming?
4 days or so (that's the standard minimum)
As long as I can get away
<4 if there is room for people who have short stints and can only get away for the weekend (work!)
What part of Sundance do you want to come?
(check all that apply)
First half (roughly January 20-25, 2022)
Second half (roughly January 25-30, 2022)
Both! Can't get enough.
How interested are you in coming?
Sign me up! Where do I send my deposit?
Depends on my schedule, which I'll know sometime soon.
Depends on if my other friends come.
Well. I'm outside the US so I'm at the mercy of vaccination travel policies.
I'm just Sundance curious.
Why are you coming to our virtual Sundance?
Check all that apply
To watch virtual movies with knowledgeable people.
Because I am curious about the film industry and want to network with those still coming.
To meet cool people of all sorts, film and not film
Snow sports! Park City Mountain Resort is the largest ski resort in the country after all.
Because I want to name drop to friends, "Oh that movie? I already saw that at Sundance."
I'm being coerced by forces beyond my control.
To cowork somewhere interesting since this COVID thing looks like it's never going to end
How budget sensitive are you?
Whatever works for a private room and private bath. I'll pay my fair share to make budget work for your operation.
Will pay for a private room, private bath not so critical.
Flexible on sleeping configuration in order to keep cost per head reasonable.
Willing to help on cooking, kitchen duty/ticket pickup/other errands to keep my payment as low as possible.
We often have folks help out with errands to help lower their cost and get things done. Do any of these interest you?
Check all that apply.
Set up (arriving on the Tuesday/Wednesday before Sundance) for grocery and tickets. We help pay for your flights.
Breakdown (staying a day or two later to help put thing in storage). We help pay for outbound ticket.
Cooking a large meal (breakfast or dinner). Ingredients TBD
Kitchen duty cleanup. Very affordable beds.
Tickets pickup (a lot of running to and from the box office)
Keeping in mind we historically charge an additional $30-$40/per person per night on top of housing for other costs to make this all work, tell us your ideal TOTAL budget for housing ONLY. No tickets, no variable costs.
This helps us figure out what house to put you in and whether you will need to help with cooking cleanup
Anything else to know about your housing preferences?
Please tell us if you want to be with specific other folks in the same house, or a place where you can cowork privately during the day (because of Zoom), or you care about location above fancy house, or you want to be near the main 1136 Woodside house.
Anything else you want to tell us? Hopes? Dreams? Google form therapy? Put it here.
