Christian Perspective:
All classes will be taught from a Christian perspective. As I learn more about science topics, I am further convinced that only God can be the creator of something so wonderful! I will always approach earth science topics from a young earth perspective with scientific data to support a young earth. Deuteronomy 6:7 is a reminder to me of why I homeschool my kids: "Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." I want my own kids to be soaking in God's truth in all steps of their lives, and I will be using this same mindset in my science classes.
What would make this class a good fit for my student?
I think of science as a verb - Science is about DOING science! It is about getting real data and discovering the way God has intricately weaved His beauty into all of his creation. My goal is to help students throughout every step of really doing science. I want to make science fun through interesting experiments, games, competitions, group discussions, drawings, and hands-on models. I understand that every student is different, and I try to make this class an amazing experience for all students. I know some students dislike science, and it is my hope that I can make it fun and interesting so that they just might not dislike it at the end of the year. I also know some students just LOVE science. I want to take something they already love and show them new ways to get real data and interesting ideas on how science applies to real life. And last, but certainly not least, I want my students to see how God's hands are part of every bit of science!
