We’re always looking for original feature ideas about transformative trends and innovations, including interviews with high-profile industry leaders, thinkers, entrepreneurs, and scientists.

Types of features Freethink would publish include:

  • Ideas, products, or innovations that could transform an entire industry or field.

  • Interviews with (or profiles of) people having an impact in tech, business, and applied science.

  • High-level explanations of big challenges and major trends within Freethink’s beats, with expert insights on potential solutions and future trends.

  • Op-eds by experts within our beats.

Here’s a few things we are not looking for in freelance submissions:

  • Stories exclusively about a single study (“New study says X and Y. The end”).

  • Marginal advances in established fields (“Tweaked drug improves secondary endpoint by 10%”).

  • Puff pieces, clickbait, or aggregated “content.”


Payment Details
Final payment details depend on the quality of the story/idea pitched. But as a general rule we offer:

Article Length - 1k to 3k words - $1,000
Article Length - 4k to 6k words - $2,000
