The Sociological Research Symposium at the University of California, Berkeley provides undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals the opportunity to share exceptional sociological work from different disciplines. By inviting students and recent graduates to present their work, The Symposium seeks to create a greater sense of community among budding sociological scholars. This years focus is ‘Sociology Applied’ in which we are striving to shed light on the numerous ways in which sociological research and findings are being used in diverse ways in the real world. If selected, you will be asked to make a short presentation highlighting the methods, results, and ramifications of your research. More information can be found on our website at
