Professional Non-Commercial Private Photography Permit Information and Application
For permission to photograph on campus, Swarthmore College charges $150 for a 2-hour photography permit.* The permit allows you to take pictures at any outdoor location on campus except the Scott Arboretum’s Terry Shane Teaching Garden. You and/or your photographer may visit the campus ahead of your scheduled photography session to identify the locations you prefer to use.  Please follow these steps:

  1.  Apply for a Photography Permit by filling out the application below.
  2. Events Management will then approve or deny your requested dates. If denied they will work with you to find another date. If approved, Events Management will email you a contract.
  3. Sign contract and send in payment. Email a signed copy of your contract to space@swarthmore.edu. Send in a check for $150 made out to "Swarthmore College." This can be mailed to or dropped off at the Events Management Office at 508 Fieldhouse Lane, Swarthmore, PA 19081. We also accept cash. We cannot process credit card payments at this time.
  4. When Events Management has received your payment they will send you an electronic copy of your permit. Another copy will be sent to Public Safety, who ensures that no one without a permit takes photos on campus.

If you have any questions reach out to the Events Management office by email (space@swarthmore.edu) or phone (610) 690-3314 .
