The HUSH Festival wants to change currency. Using the exchanging, sharing and receiving of stories instead of payment, we can ensure that programming not only remains free for everyone, but that we can connect with one another in the process.

Wait, what are you on about? 

HUSH is a pay in kind festival, and we’re not having tickets for events. Instead, you will reserve a seat, or seats, for the events you want to see, and we hope that you share with us a story in return.

Sounds fun, but how will it work? 

Using the link or QR code at the bottom of this page, you’ll be taken to our ticketing site, where you can browse what events we have on during the festival, and book seats for yourself, your friends, and your family. 

All tickets are free, but when you book you will be asked to complete a quick form for your story submission. Here you’ll be given the option to either submit your story via the form, or to submit it in person on the day of your event. 

What if sharing a story just isn’t for me, can I still come to the festival? 

Of course! Whilst we would love to hear a story from everyone, what we want most is for people to attend the festival, enjoy themselves, and share in the amazing atmosphere. 

Okay, I think I’m getting it. But what kind of story should I submit? 

Now this is the really important bit. 

Your story can be whatever you want it to be.

It can be about you; telling us about a time or event in your life that is special or meaningful. 

It can be about a place; is there anywhere that you feel connected to, that is a part of you and your story? 

It can be pages long, or it can be one sentence. It can be the product of hours of work, or something that comes to you when you walk into the theatre. It is your story, we don’t want to tell it for you.
