SLELO PRISM is looking for volunteers to assist a restoration planting on November 9th, tentatively from 10 AM- 3 PM at El Dorado Preserve, located off Grand Jean Road in Henderson, NY (Google Map).
What to Expect:
- We will begin promptly at 10 AM, and plan to end by 3 PM depending on needs.
- A brief project overview and planting instructions will be provided.
- We’ll walk a flat trail through forested and field settings (approximately 0.3 miles or 10-15 minutes each way).
- Native plants will be planted in an open field, and forest gaps.
- No experience is required, and tools will be provided (but feel free to bring your own tools or gloves).
- Bring water, a bagged lunch, and any snacks you may need.
- We will be in tall grass, so wear field attire such as long pants, closed-toe shoes, and a long-sleeved shirt to protect against ticks and poison ivy.
More information will be sent to you as the event
approaches. You must sign a liability waiver to participate, a digital form
will be sent out before the event and paper copies will also be available at
the event if you aren’t able to sign one digitally. Please reach out to
megan.pistolese@tnc.org, 315-522-1258 with any questions or if you can no
longer attend the event. We look forward to working with you!
