ELIGIBILITY: No purchase necessary. The Contest is open to legal residents of the 48 contiguous United States or the District of Columbia who are eighteen years of age or older and who successfully upload an original Valentine’s Day story online through a Google form and provide a valid e-mail address, residence zip code and upload their photo to enter no later than February 14, 2019. The Contest is not open to (a) employees (including members of their immediate families or other persons living in their households) of Sponsor, the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, or any of their respective Board members, officers, subsidiaries, affiliates or advertising/promotional agencies, if applicable; and (b) persons who have won any other prize valued in excess of $600 in any Contest at Navy Pier in the past six (6) months. “Immediate family” means parents, siblings, children and spouse. Void where prohibited. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. The Participant must complete the survey in full and include his/her email address to be entered in the Valentine’s Day Story Contest.
HOW TO ENTER: To enter, submit an original Valentine’s Day story online through a Google form and provide a valid e-mail address, residence zip code and upload their photo to enter no later than February 5, 2019. By entering, Participant grants Navy Pier the irrevocable right to use and re-use the story and photo submitted for purpose of conducting the Contest. Navy Pier will not make public information related to Participant’s zip code or email address. Navy Pier is not responsible for incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete entry of information by Participants; lost entries or transmissions, interrupted or unavailable network, server, or other connections; scrambled transmissions or other errors or problems of any kind whether mechanical, human, or electronic, technical malfunctions or the computer hardware, software, or any combination thereof; or problems associated with any virus or any other damage caused to Participants’ systems. No entries by facsimile, overnight courier, or delivery service.
PRIZES: There will be a total of 3 winners (2 runner up Participants and 1 grand prize Participant). The Grand Prize winner will receive a Complimentary Valentine’s Day Date (valid February 14, 2019), a total value of $700, which includes a VIP Centennial Wheel experience, dinner for two at Riva Crabhouse, dessert at Brown Sugar Bakery, a complimentary caricature by Faces in Focus, a bouquet of flowers from Chicago Flower & Garden Show, and a gift bag from 77 & Co., The Neighborhood Urban Gift Shop, Art-k-Texture, Dock Side and This Socks.. Winners must be available from 6pm-9pm on February 14. Runner up winners will receive other special prizes including A VIP Gondola experience on the Centennial Wheel, a Navy Pier Swag Bag, among other special gifts totaling $250.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: Navy Pier will select three Participants to receive the Prize. The selection of the Participants shall be based by popular online vote from visitors using “Facebook Polls”. Voting ends at 9 am on Monday, February 11, 2019 and a winner will be announced and notified at 12pm on the same day.
CONDITIONS: By entering the Sweepstake, Participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Navy Pier, which shall be final. Navy Pier, agents and representatives of Navy Pier, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (ii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Navy Pier that may cause the Sweepstake to be disrupted or corrupted; (iv) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of any prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, or from participation in the Sweepstake; or (v) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Sweepstake. Navy Pier reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel the Sweepstake at any time if a computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or other technical problem of any sort corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of the Sweepstake. Navy Pier reserves the right to cancel the Sweepstake or change any element thereof, with or without notice, at any time, due to printing errors, web site errors, transmission errors or other mistakes or problems in the production or administration of the Sweepstake. Navy Pier also reserves the right to disqualify, in its sole discretion, any person tampering with the entry process or who is otherwise in violation of the Sweepstake Rules.
Any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by arbitration. Claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys’ fees. Participants agree that, if necessary, all disputes will be resolved in state or federal courts in Illinois exclusively and subject to the laws of the State of Illinois.
By entering the Contest, each Participant agrees to release and hold Navy Pier its Board members, officers, subsidiaries, affiliates or advertising/promotional agencies and legal advisors, if applicable, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Sweepstake or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
Participant shall be solely responsible for selection of persons actually using a complimentary ticket. In the event such user is a minor, Participant shall provide proper adult supervision and care.
