Skills Assessment
Please take a moment to give us examples of your experience in the following areas. Do remember that on-the-job training is provided, so if this is an area you may need training in please do just tell us that.

This assessment works best if you give us examples of situations you have been in, personal or work-based, in the past. Here's an example to get you going:

Leading a small team
From 2012 - 2016 I worked for a small business called XYZ Business. I was not a manager, but worked alongside other team members on projects. Often I was required to take the lead on a project and guide other team members through that process. As the lead of the project I regularly met with everyone, kept a timeline of our project and it's progress, ensured that everyone was on the same page and coached individuals where necessary.

Please tell us about your experience in leading a small team or, if you've not directly managed a team before, your experience of making a significant contribution to the efficiencies of a small team. *
Please tell us about a time where you had to problem solve and use your initiative at work. *
Please describe your level of competence with using technology - Google apps, online booking systems and mobile phone apps. *
Please tell us about your experience with administration tasks, and if you've had to prioritise tasks if your role involved competing demands. *
Please tell us about your practical skills, in particular if you have experience in domestic livestock management and/or groundskeeping. *
Personal Statement - your opportunity to step off the treadmill of the predictable application form questions. Please write in any way and at whatever length you like detailing your outdoor credentials and your motivation for applying to the Lazy Duck. You will gather that we aim to recruit a top class colleague with bags of cheerful, useful energy, who can manage their work schedule comfortably with enough energy to spare to go the extra mile for guests or for the team when the need arises. The more you can tell us of your experiences and of yourself the easier it becomes for us to recognise the likelihood of you making a success of your time here. *
The Important Documents
Please supply a full C.V, detailed cover letter and contact details for three referees.

Two referees should be available to be contacted during the application process:
-One who can speak of your competence in the skills, workmanship and abilities as a working team member, perhaps a previous employer or team members.
-The second referee can be a character reference from someone who knows you well and who may share your interests outside of work.
-The third referee should be your current / most recent employer who can be contacted at the latter stage of the interview process, whereby the job offer is contingent on a reference.
