2018 BCFA Citizens Fire Academy Registration
The Brazos County Firefighters' Association Citizens Fire Academy is a free program for community members who wish to learn more about the fire departments and dedicated volunteer firefighters who protect the rural communities in Brazos County. Participants will have the opportunity to tour a variety of rural fire stations and other facilities such as the Community Emergency Operations Center and the Brazos County 911 Dispatch Center as well as receive hands on exposure to the basics of firefighting and EMS. Participants will also have the opportunity to receive CPR certification during the course. The program concludes with a capstone live burn day at TEEX Brayton Fire Field and a public graduation the following week.

Program Schedule
Courses will be held on Wednesday nights from 6:30PM until 9:00PM from January 10th to March 28th at various locations throughout Brazos County.

A live burn day will be conducted on Saturday March 24th from 8:00AM to 3:00PM at Brayton Fire Field.

A full schedule will be sent to participants prior to the first day of the program.

The BCFA Citizens Fire Academy is intended as a community education and outreach program only. This program does not provide professional training recognized by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, the State Firefighters' and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas, the Texas Department of State Health Services, or any other licensing body. Participants of this program receive no professional certification or license for their participation. Participation is limited to adults 18 years or older.

This program includes hands-on physical activities and exposure to situations that can be distressing to some participants. Participation in any element of the program is optional for participants and participants should make program instructors aware of any conditions or situations that may affect the safety or well being of the participants (for example, claustrophobia).

Participants may be required to sign additional waivers prior to participating in hands on activities.

There is no cost to participate in this program. Additional instructions and registration confirmation will be sent prior to the first day of the program.
