We encourage participants to provide interactive activities for the kids (and adults) in attendance. You can expect around 300 kids aged 3-10 to visit your booth.
1) Decorate your booth to really show something unique about the country you're presenting. Example -- in 2008, China had a mini "Great Wall" around their booth.
2) Summer of the Arts will provide a 10’x10’ tent, 2 tables, 4 chairs, and tablecloths for your booth. If you need additional space, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
3) We will be putting together a "passport" for the kids and want to share a few interesting facts about each country represented. We prefer to include really special, less well-known information. We will request your FUN Facts with confirmation of participation if accepted (space is limited and preference will be given to groups/individuals who haven’t participated before).
Children's Global Village will take place on Sunday, June 4th from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the FUN Zone on the Iowa City Downtown Pedestrian Plaza. Set up will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday morning. Volunteers will be available to assist with setup and to help staff your booth (if necessary and requested in advance).
Names and birth dates of all booth staff and assistants are required for necessary background checks. This information may be added to the application today or sent separately by May 12th, 2017 to Stephanie Hesse at outreach@summeroftheARTS.org.
REGISTRATION FORM DEADLINE: March 27, 2017.
