Save Our Shaw
Enough is enough. Your voice is needed to help Save Our Shaw. Neighbors have arranged a community walkthrough to address the increasing safety and quality-of-life issues in our neighborhood, and your participation is critical to making city leaders pay attention. This is your chance to be heard. Your physical presence makes a difference.
SHOW UP FOR SHAW.
Thursday, 27 May @ 1PM, at the corner of 10th & Rhode Island (in front of Seaton Elementary). We will begin the walkthrough from there. Even if you can only come for 15 minutes at the meeting point, it makes a difference if you're there.
Crime is skyrocketing -- both big and small -- and city leaders are ignoring us. This week's shooting of a mother & child near Seaton Elementary is just the latest outrage. We need to SPEAK UP and demand that city resources be dedicated to the safety of our community.
It can be hard to break away during a weekday, but if you can, now is the time to show up. If you can't attend, please post the attached SOS flyer in your window to visually communicate your demand to city leaders to SAVE OUR SHAW.
Reps from the following agencies will be present. They can't continue to pass the buck in front of each other and in front of a solid neighborhood turnout. You matter.
• MPD (shootings, harassment, theft, car break-ins)
• DOH (rats, encampments)
• DDOT (dangerous driving, pedestrian safety)
• DPW (illegal dumping, litter, neighborhood parking)
• DCRA (blighted properties, illegal construction)
• The Mayor's Office
This event has been arranged by a coalition of concerned neighbors. Our focal point for communication is ANC 6E01 Commissioner Michael Eichler. For questions, or to locate us mid-walkthrough, call Michael at 202-599-6326.
