Introducing high school girls to a career in the law

Observe federal court in session, visit UC Hastings College of Law, tour the campus of a leading tech company, and spend time at the offices of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, for an up-close look at a career practicing high-tech law. During this two-day program, participants will meet women who have achieved success in various aspects of the legal profession.

Any high-school girl, including incoming freshman and recently graduated seniors, who are interested in exploring a career in law.

To further its purpose of increasing diversity and inclusion in these areas, ChIPs encourages high-school girls from all socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds to apply.

ChIPs and Orrick fund the $100 per participant fee that covers the cost of breakfast and lunch on both days. Due to this generosity, each accepted applicant is able to participate at no charge. If for any reason, you are not able to attend after being accepted, you must contact ChIPs at least 72 hours in advance in order that these funds maybe be passed on to a student on the wait list. The student will be responsible for the registration fee if ChIPs is not notified by Sunday, June 9th, 8:30am.

APPLICATION PERIOD April 1-May 15, 2018. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and all applicants will be notified of their application results by May 18th.
