Cost approximately $4500 all cost included (program visits, hotel, breakfast and lunch) except personal expenses and airfare.
Study Abroad 2020: August 24-28, 2020
This course offers a study tour trip to Lima, Peru and helps students to engage in dialogue with a network of Reggio inspired schools. Students visit three preschools and one elementary school, observe in the classrooms, attend workshops, engage in pedagogical encounters through daily dialogue with parents, teachers, and other educators developing different points of views with teachers and children with contrasting identities. As a community of learners, we will explore together what it means to be deep thinkers in our practice.
From Programa Transforma---in the less affluent hillside communities of Lima---to the schools in the city center, this study tour will work alongside the teachers, children, and parents to explore learner-centered education with children, 3 years through elementary school years. With over 40 hours of contact in the schools, through PSU classes and onsite workshops, we explore children's learning through interactions with intentional environments alongside educators from Central and South America. All professional development will be provided in English.
- Applications open October 2019-April 1, 2020
