PCWG's Michigan Political Communication Mini-Conference
On April 22nd, 2022 the UM Political Communication Working Group, along with faculty at Michigan State University, are hosting a mini-conference for scholars of political communication. This half-day event will bring together graduate students and faculty from all over the state of Michigan to present research, workshop ideas, and discuss collaborative projects. Any graduate student interested in political communication is invited to apply to present; priority will be given to graduate students affiliated with UM’s PCWG or MSU’s Political Communication and Civic Engagement research area.

Graduate students must present in order to attend. There will be two types of presentations:

1. "Unstuck" presentations, which are short, informal presentations by faculty and graduate students that can include early stage research questions or problems people are stuck on. These presentations are a chance to develop ideas and get feedback on how to move forward. Presentations should be no longer than 3-5 minutes, with another 5-10 minutes of feedback.

2. Grad student presentations, which are more formal presentations of research that is closer to being ready for a conference or journal submission. These sessions are a chance to practice presenting manuscript length work or just to get feedback from other students and faculty on more completed projects. Presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes, with another 10 minutes of feedback.

If you would like to attend, please fill out this form by 12:00pm on Friday, March 25, 2022.
