Saskatchewan Music Educator's Association Awards Nomination Form

The Saskatchewan Music Educators’ Association (SMEA) recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to music education in Saskatchewan. Awards are presented annually to honor both outstanding achievements and lifelong dedication to the profession.

Outstanding Achievement Award

This award recognizes either a single outstanding accomplishment or a sustained commitment to excellence in music education. Recipients do not need to be current or former SMEA members.

Honourary Lifetime Award

This award is presented to retired or current members who have demonstrated one or more of the following:

  • Elevated the value and profile of music education in Saskatchewan
  • Made a significant impact through music education initiatives
  • Contributed meaningfully to SMEA and music education in Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan Alumni Achievement Award

This newly created award honors an exceptional music educator who has made outstanding contributions to the profession, both here in Saskatchewan and on the international stage.

Canadian Music Educators’ Association Awards

Honourary Life Member

Recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to music education in Canada.

Builders Award

This award recognizes individuals who advance music education by building community or establishing significant collaborations. There are two categories:

  • CMEA/Acme Builders Award
  • CMEA/Acme Builders Award for Newer Teachers (for educators in their first five years of teaching)

Nomination Submission
Nominations must include a written explanation (maximum 200 words), which may be edited for publication.

Nomination Deadline: June 30 (each fiscal year)
