Donations for the SAA Silent Auction to support the NDRFA! (hosted by the Preservation Section)
The Society of American Archivists Preservation Section invites you to contribute an item or bundle for the Silent Auction to be held on Thursday and Friday, August 15th and 16th, at the ARCHIVES*RECORDS 2024 Annual Meeting, at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.

The Silent Auction benefits the National Disaster Recovery Fund for Archives (NDRFA). This fund was established in 2005 after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and is used to support the recovery of archival collections from major disasters, regardless of region or repository type. Last year, your generous contributions to this auction helped to raise over $4,400 to support your colleagues!

We are looking for items from individuals, repositories, regions, vendors, or collaborative groups that might be of interest to others. Every type of contribution is welcome! The only requirement is that the item being auctioned off MUST be able to be packed in either a carry-on or checked bag.

Popular items from past auctions include:
  • Handmade or crafted items (hand-knit/crochet and handcrafted bags and scarves are especially popular)
  • Regional food and drink (alcohol is quite welcome, and very popular!), including gift certificates for places that ship specialty food products
  • Repository T-shirts, tote bags, note- or postcards, other swag, etc. (could also include a free membership, or registration for a virtual program, conference, workshop, or more)
  • Repository publications
  • Art, prints, printed photographs, jewelry, etc.
We ask that you bring the donated item with you to the conference, if you are attending in person. Drop-off  times will be Wednesday afternoon (8/14, from approximately 4:00-6:00 PM) and Thursday morning prior to the auction (8/15 from approximately 7:30-9:00 AM). If you are unable to attend the conference in person but would still like to donate, please tell us below and we will make other arrangements with you!
