Hold Harmless Waiver of Liability - Church of the Brethren
It is agreed and understood between the Church of the Brethren, Inc. and any person (not employed by the Church of the Brethren, Inc.) who elects to participate in any Church of the Brethren, Inc. sponsored activity anywhere in the world that the following conditions of participation shall apply:

1. I fully understand that I may be involved in construction work such as hammering, painting, roofing, dry walling, as well as gardening, such as weeding, trimming, and mowing. There have been very few injuries on previous workcamps, however, accidents can occur causing injuries including, but not limited to: scrapes, cuts, bruises, broken bones, quadriplegia, and death.

2. I will assist the leadership by informing/calling attention to situations which may cause injury for myself and/or other participants such as defective equipment, surface conditions, not feeling well or being fatigued.

3. I accept and assume all responsibility for my personal actions and any and all risks of damage or personal injury which occur during or result from my participation.

4. Further, I hereby release, discharge and hold harmless the Church of the Brethren, Inc., its coordinators, directors, staff, and agents, from any and all claims, demands, damages, or causes of action, present or future, whether the same be known, anticipated or unanticipated, resulting from or arising out of my service.
Photo Release
Participants in Church of the Brethren workcamps agree to have their photo used in news articles and promotional materials unless they contact the Workcamp Office to request otherwise. For safety reasons, it is the policy of the Church of the Brethren never to use last names and locations to identify photographs of minors on the internet.
Financial Covenant
As an adult workcamp participant, or parent of a workcamp participant under the age of 18, I agree to assume full financial responsibility for any damages which I or my son/daughter might inflict upon the facility, and/or for transportation if I or my son/daughter must be sent home early for any reason.

2018 Workcamp Participant Covenant
As a participant in a Church of the Brethren Workcamp, I agree to:

- Seek Christian fellowship and personal growth.

- Attend all activities during the workcamp.

- Refrain from drug use or possession including alcohol, tobacco products, illegal drugs and highly caffeinated energy drinks.

- Refrain from fighting or violence, including the possession of weapons.

- Not engage in inappropriate displays of affection publicly or privately (holding hands, kissing, etc.).

- Remain in designated sleeping areas and abide by any and all curfews that are set.

- Follow all guidelines and rules established by the workcamp leadership.

- Work, play, fellowship, and worship to the best of my abilities.

Technology Policy
- Cell phone use by workcamp participants will be left up to the discretion of the workcamp coordinator and director. At the very least, all cell phones should be silenced and left in sleeping quarters at all times.

- Leaders will have cell phones on worksites for coordination and emergencies only.

- All other devices (mp3 players, laptops, DVD players, etc.) should remain in luggage and out of view for the duration of the workcamp.

* Failure to adhere to this policy will result in the device being taken for the remainder of the workcamp. *

Dress Code
- Clothing worn to reveal underwear or cleavage, pants worn below waist level, or clothing that is excessively baggy or tight is not permissible. Shorts must be mid-thigh length or longer.

- Clothing with inappropriate messages (i.e. vulgar language, obscenities, and/or drug or alcohol advertisements) is not allowed.

- Shirts must have sleeves, be waist-length or longer, and worn at all times unless swimming. Mid-section should not be visible. No tank tops, tube tops, or halters will be allowed.

- Swimwear must be appropriate and is to be worn only at designated swimming areas. For females, this means a one-piece or a two-piece “tankini” that meets in the middle.

- T-shirts may also be worn to cover a bikini. For males, this means swimming trunks.
