Greece Education Foundation Grant Application
• GEF grants are open only to Greece Central School District teachers and staff.
• 2017-18 grant request deadlines are: September 8, 2017, November 3, 2017 and January 5, 2018.
• GEF funds projects that are student-centered, enrich the educational experience, and are not funded through the district budget.
• Priority is given to innovative applications that are unique and cost-effective. Durable equipment/materials that have a useful life greater than one school year also receive priority.
• Grants range in size from $50 to $1000 maximum.
• Field trips will be considered. GCSD bus transportation and up to 1/2 total cost of admission may be requested.
• Items NOT funded by GEF include food, gift certificates, and token rewards. Anything essential to instruction will not be funded, including computers, Smartboards, textbooks, items necessary to meet students' IEP requirements, professional development, professional resources, or salaries.
• Grant requests that have been funded in previous years will be held until January and considered only if funding remains after new projects are approved.
• You will be notified about the status of your request following the GEF meeting. If your request is approved, funds may not be available for 2-3 weeks following the meeting. GEF meeting dates 2017-18: September 22, December 1, January 26.
• All equipment/materials funded by GEF are the property of Greece Central. Should a teacher's assignment change, the equipment/materials will be reassigned by District administration as appropriate.
• The GEF Application Scoring rubric will be used to determine which applications are funded. Please review the rubric before completing your application. Rubric can be downloaded here: http://www.greecegiving.com/Grants.htm
