A Very Queer Book Club is dedicated to exploring LGBTQ+ literature, with a special focus on voices from Africa and Uganda. We believe in the power of stories to cause change and expand horizons.

This book club is more than just reading; it's about creating a safe and inclusive space for learning, dialogue, and connection. We aim to:

• Center marginalized voices: We will prioritize books written by LGBTQ+ authors from Africa and Uganda, amplifying their unique experiences and perspectives.
• Promote education and awareness: Through thoughtful discussions, we will delve into themes of identity, resilience, and social justice, fostering a deeper understanding of African/Ugandan queer history and culture.
• Preserve and celebrate queer literature: By actively engaging with these works, we contribute to the preservation and celebration of LGBTQ+ literature, ensuring these stories continue to inspire and empower future generations.
