Complete the form below before Friday 14th December 2018 to ensure your workshop proposal is considered by the NATECLA National Conference 2019 organising committee.
Important Conference information
Delivering a workshop at a NATECLA National Conference is a great CPD opportunity. You'll be presenting at the leading ESOL teaching conference in the UK, which attracts ESOL and EFL practitioners from all over the country - and beyond.

DATE: Friday 5 - Saturday 6 July 2019 (from 1pm on Friday to 6pm on Saturday)

VENUE: Conference Aston, Aston University, Aston Street, Birmingham, B4 7ET

CONTACT: Laura Plotnek-Jones, laura@natecla.org.uk

DEADLINE FOR WORKSHOP SUBMISSIONS: Friday 14th December 2018. Successful submitters will be notified by the middle of January 2019.

Themes for workshops
Your workshop should appeal to ESOL teachers, managers, volunteers and other related professionals, practising in the UK and areas of interest could include:

• Practical teaching skills
• Using ICT
• Assessment
• 14-19 learning
• Pre-entry learning
• Volunteer ESOL teaching
• ESOL policy
• ESOL / English language research
• Refugees / asylum seekers

Reimbursements
Workshop reimbursements can only be claimed by non-commercial workshop leaders.

Commercial organisations - Those representing a commercial organisation such as a publisher, awarding body or training organisation will not be entitled to claim a fee and must pay £170 to deliver a session if it is approved.

For non-commercial workshop leaders, NATECLA will pay:

• £30.00 for you to deliver a session once,
• An extra £20.00 for you to repeat the same session on the same day
• An extra £30 for you to repeat the same session on a different day
• Travel expenses of up to £50 (receipts will need to be provided).

These reimbursements are per workshop and NOT per workshop leader. Alternatively, workshop leaders can receive a FREE day pass to attend other workshops on the same day as their own (only one free pass per workshop can be provided).

Please note: NATECLA is a registered charity and, as a result, must limit its expenses accordingly.

Attending other parts of the conference

Commercial workshop leaders are welcome to attend the full conference provided that they purchase a delegate pass for the day(s) that they attend, including the day of their workshop.

Non-commercial workshop leaders can choose to receive a FREE conference day pass to attend other workshops on the same day as their own as an alternative to receiving a reimbursement and travel expenses. As mentioned above, only one free pass can be provided per workshop.

Take advantage of our early booking rates before 5 May 2019.

Cancellations of sessions
It is difficult to predict how popular a workshop will be. Therefore, we reserve the right – although we try not to exercise it – to cancel a workshop because of low numbers, a week before the conference. This would only happen after consultation with the leader(s).
Photocopying
Participants value handouts from workshop leaders. Unfortunately, we are unable to photocopy materials for you on site, so please bring sufficient copies with you. We should be able to give you some idea of numbers nearer the time, as participants will have signed up for workshops in advance. Please claim reasonable copying costs with fee and travel expenses.
