FAB LAB BILBAO, ESPACIO OPEN

DESCRIPCIÓN RESIDENCIAS
'Maker Ekintzaile' es un programa semillero de Espacio Open y se desarrolla dentro del programa Sorgune de Fábricas de Creación financiado por Gobierno Vasco.
Este programa de mediación cultural forma parte de Espacio Open, en concreto de su centro de creación y fabricación digital Fab Lab Bilbao.
Se seleccionarán un máximo de 4 proyectos locales, nacionales o internacionales, que deberán desarrollar un proyecto  artístico-tecnológico de base maker que poder crear, exhibir y difundir mediante herramientas libres.
El resultado de la residencia formará parte del espacio expositivo del Festival Internacional en Tecnologías Creativas Bilbao Maker Faire 2022, por tanto deberá desarrollarse un primer prototipo antes del 1 de Noviembre de 2022, y el resultado podrá formar parte de otras acciones de difusión y comunicación que se establezcan desde Fab Lab Bilbao/Espacio Open.

A QUIÉN VA DIRIGIDO
Las residencias de creación Maker Ekintzaile están dirigidas a personas del ámbito artístico, la creación, emprendimiento, ingeniería, diseño, maker, etc, con un proyecto de desarrollo de obra en el marco de cultura digital en fase de producción. Están destinadas a acompañar la creación artística alrededor del uso crítico de la tecnología mediante herramientas y técnicas de un Fab Lab.

OBJETIVO DE LAS RESIDENCIAS
Esta convocatoria de residencias persigue los siguientes objetivos:
- Acoger y acompañar a los y las creadoras, artistas, tecnólogas y productoras profesionales de tecnología, ofreciendo un espacios de fabricación y creación digital en Euskadi.
- Ofrecer un espacio donde las personas creadoras pueda entrar en un proceso inmersivo, equipado con maquinaria y herramienta para llevar acabo un proceso de creación e investigación, facilitando un ecosistema profesional.
- Visibilizar la labor creadora de estos proyectos creativos utilizando las redes propias digitales y presenciales en las que participa Espacio Open como Fab Lab Bilbao.
- Estimular la producción artística de base tecnológica.
- Generar nuevos entornos de aprendizaje, investigación y experimentación para los agentes artísticos locales.
- Fomentar la creación como un motor de difusión del conocimiento.

CONDICIONES
Con el objetivo de potenciar el talento local se reserva un 50% de las plazas para creadoras y
creadores de Euskal Herria.
Hay 2 modalidades de inscripción:
- PROFESIONALES: Para creadores/as con experiencia y recorrido dentro de la cultura maker.
- NOVELES: Dirigida a creadores/as incipientes, poco familiarizados con entornos Fab Labs.

RECURSOS
Las personas residentes dispondrán de:
-Acceso integral ilimitado en tiempo al centro de fabricación digital Fab Lab Bilbao mientras dure la residencia.
-Recursos y herramientas del Fab Lab y otras instalaciones de Espacio Open y asociados en la Antigua Fábrica de Galletas Artiach.
-Acompañamiento profesional para garantizar la realización técnica del proyecto.
-Acceso a otros programas de formación profesional del centro.
-2.500€ máximo/proyecto para gastos alojamiento, transporte, materiales no disponibles en el centro de creación, fee creador, etc. (Profesionales: 1.500€ creador + 1.000€ gastos/materiales,  Noveles: 500€ creador + 500€ gastos/materiales)

CRITERIOS DE SELECCIÓN
Se valorarán las propuestas que sigan los siguientes principios:
- Poner énfasis en algunas de las cuestiones sociales, políticas y/o económicas que existen detrás de la creciente omnipresencia de algoritmos y tecnologías de caja negra en nuestro entorno.
- Hacer contribuciones significativas al conocimiento colectivo creando herramientas libres de software o de hardware de gran potencial innovador artístico.
- Transferir conocimiento y técnicas innovadoras en el tejido creativo vasco.
- Facilitar la comprensión de este cambio de ciclo tecnológico en todo tipo de audiencias. Extender la reflexión y el uso de herramientas que permiten entender como funcionan las tecnologías a otros colectivos, con énfasis en públicos de humanidades y letras.
- Fomentar la visibilización de las tecnologías creativas en las ICC.

COMPROMISO
-Plasmar la idea propuesta en una obra, performance, instalación u otro soporte.
-Liberar al menos parte del diseño de la obra en formatos libres y abiertos que permitan la reutilización del conocimiento generado.
-Impartir una formación teórico práctica del proyecto a desarrollar durante la residencia.
-Participar en los modelos de evaluación y difusión del proyecto (entrevistas, medios, fotografía, etc.)
-Participar en la exhibición final de los proyectos en Residencia durante Maker Faire Bilbao.
-Justificar los gastos realizados mediante facturas.
-Entregar una memoria descriptiva sobre el trabajo desarrollado en la residencia.
-Documentación visual y gráfica del proyecto realizado.

PLAZOS
El plazo es de un mes desde la apertura.
Presentación de propuesta hasta 18 de Marzo de 2022 (hasta las 23:59h.)
Ejecución de residencia hasta 31 de Diciembre de 2022.
Duración máxima de la residencia 1 mes.

QUIENES SOMOS
Somos un ecosistema de proyectos creativos y sociales de impacto social en positivo situado desde sus inicios en la Antigua Fábrica de Galletas de Bilbao (Fábrica Artiach) en el barrio de La Ribera de Deusto / Zorrotzaurre desde el 2009. Con más de 110.000 visitantes anuales, 12 trabajadores y 2.000 m2 de instalaciones.

Trabajamos en la intersección entre cultura contemporánea, tecnología y cuestiones sociales. Desarrollamos proyectos propios en nuestros espacios, así como proyectos y  servicios de consultoría y gestión para entidades privadas o públicas. Nuestros espacios albergan el festival de tecnologías creativas Maker Faire Bilbao y el centro de creación y fabricación digital Fab Lab Bilbao entre otros.  

Somos miembros fundadores de la red Estatal de Centros de Creación y Fabricación Digital CREFAB así como de la Fab Foundation, red de centros impulsados en origen por del Media Lab del MIT. Además, somos European Regional Contact de la red Burning Man y pertenecemos a la red internacional de festivales Maker Faire que tienen lugar en más de 300 ciudades de todo el mundo.

EGOITZEN DESKRIBAPENA
'Maker Ekintzaile' Espacio Openeko hazitegi-programa bat da, eta Eusko Jaurlaritzak finantzatutako Sormen Lantegien Sorgune programaren barruan garatzen da.

Kultur bitartekaritzako programa hau Espacio Openaren parte da, zehazki Fab Lab Bilbao sorkuntza eta fabrikazio digitaleko zentroarena.
Gehienez ere 4 proiektu aukeratuko dira, bertakoak, nazionalak edo nazioartekoak. Maker oinarriko proiektu artistiko-teknologiko bat garatu beharko dute, tresna libreen bidez sortu, erakutsi eta zabaldu ahal izateko.
Egoitzaren emaitza Bilbao Maker Faire 2022 Sormen Teknologien Nazioarteko Jaialdiaren erakusketa-espazioaren parte izango da; beraz, lehen prototipo bat garatu beharko da 2022ko azaroaren 1a baino lehen, eta emaitza Fab Lab Bilbao/Espacio Open delakotik ezartzen diren beste hedapen- eta komunikazio-ekintza batzuen parte izan ahalko da.

NORI ZUZENDUTA DAGOEN
Maker Ekintzaile sormen-egoitzak artearen, sorkuntzaren, ekintzailetzaren, ingeniaritzaren, diseinuaren, makerraren eta abarren arloko pertsonei zuzenduta daude, eta kultura digitalaren esparruan obra garatzeko proiektu bat dute ekoizpen-fasean. Gainera, Fab Lab baten tresnak eta teknikak erabiliz teknologiaren erabilera kritikoaren inguruko sorkuntza artistikoa laguntzera bideratuta daude.

EGOITZEN HELBURUA
Hazitegi-programa horren barruan, Espacio Open zentroak egoitza artistikoetarako deialdi bat du, eta honako helburu hauek ditu:
Teknologiako sortzaile, artista eta ekoizle profesionalak hartzea eta laguntzea, Euskadin fabrikazio eta sorkuntza digitaleko espazioak eskainiz.
Sortzaileak murgiltze-prozesu batean sartzeko espazio bat eskaintzea, sorkuntza- eta ikerketa-prozesu bat burutzeko makinaz eta tresnaz hornitua, ekosistema profesional bat erraztuz.
Sormen-proiektu horien sorkuntza-lana ikusaraztea, sare digital propioak eta sareen presentzialak erabiliz, non Open Espazioak Fab Lab Bilbao gisa parte hartzen duen.
Oinarri teknologikoko ekoizpen artistikoa estimulatzea.
Ikaskuntza-, ikerketa- eta esperimentazio-ingurune berriak sortzea tokiko arte-eragileentzat
Sorkuntza sustatzea, ezagutza zabaltzeko eragile gisa.

BALDINTZAK
Tokiko talentua indartzeko asmoz, plazen % 50 erreserbatzen zaie sortzaile eta
Euskal Herriko sortzaileak.
Izena emateko bi modu daude:
- PROFESIONALAK: Maker kulturan esperientzia eta ibilbidea duten sortzaileentzat.
- HASIBERRIAK: Fab Labs inguruneetan oso ezagunak ez diren sortzaile hasiberriei zuzendua.

BALIABIDEAK
Egoiliarrek honako hauek izango dituzte:
- Fab Lab Bilbao fabrikazio digitaleko zentrorako sarbide integral mugagabea, egoitzak irauten duen bitartean.
- Fab Lab-eko baliabideak eta tresnak eta Espacio Openeko beste instalazio batzuk, Artiach Galleten Fabrika Zaharrean elkartuak.
- Laguntza profesionala, proiektuaren errealizazio teknikoa bermatzeko.
- Ikastetxeko lanbide-heziketako beste programa batzuetarako sarbidea.
- 2.500 €gehienez proiektu bakoitzeko, gastuetarako: ostatua, garraioa, sorkuntza-zentroan eskuragarri ez dauden materialak, fee sortzailea, etab. (Profesionalak: 1.500 €sortzaile + 1.000 €gastu/material, nobelak: 500 €sortzaile + 500 €gastu/material)

HAUTATZEKO IRIZPIDEAK
Honako printzipio hauei jarraitzen dieten proposamenak baloratuko dira:
- Gure ingurunean kutxa beltzeko algoritmo eta teknologien presentzia gero eta handiagoaren atzean dauden gai sozial, politiko eta/edo ekonomiko batzuk azpimarratzea.
- Ezagutza kolektiboari ekarpen esanguratsuak egitea, software edo hardware tresna askeak sortuz, potentzial berritzaile artistiko handikoak.
- Ezagutza eta teknika berritzaileak transferitzea euskal sormen-ehunean.
- Mota guztietako audientzietan ziklo teknologikoaren aldaketa hori ulertzen laguntzea. Gauzek nola funtzionatzen duten prozesatzea eta ulertzea ahalbidetzen duten tresnen hausnarketa eta erabilera beste kolektibo batzuetara zabaltzea lortzea, humanitateen eta letren publikoak azpimarratuz.
Sormenezko teknologien ikusgarritasuna sustatzea KSIetan/sorkuntzan.

KONPROMISO-BALDINTZAK
- Proposatutako ideia obra, performance, instalazio edo bestelako euskarri batean islatzea.
- Obraren diseinuaren zati bat gutxienez formatu libre eta irekietan liberatzea, sortutako ezagutza berrerabili ahal izateko.
- Egoitzan garatu beharreko proiektuaren prestakuntza teoriko-praktikoa ematea.
- Proiektua ebaluatzeko eta zabaltzeko ereduetan parte hartzea (elkarrizketak, hedabideak, argazkiak, etab.)
- Maker Faire Bilbao bitartean Egoitzako proiektuen azken erakustaldian parte hartzea.
- Egindako gastuak fakturen bidez justifikatzea
- Egoitzan egindako lanari buruzko memoria deskribatzailea ematea.
- Egindako proiektuaren dokumentazio bisuala eta grafikoa.

Kultura garaikidearen, teknologiaren eta gizarte-gaien arteko elkargunean lan egiten dugu. CREFAB Sorkuntza eta Fabrikazio Digitalerako Zentroen Estatuko Sarearen eta Fab Foundation sarearen sortzaileak gara. Sare hori MITeko Media Lab-ek sustatzen du jatorrian. CREATION AND PRODUCTION RESIDENCES IN DIGITAL CULTURE IN OPEN CALL MAKER EKINTZALEA

DESCRIPTION
'Maker Ekintzaile' is a seed program of Espacio Open and is developed within the Sorgune program of Creation Factories financed by the Basque Government.
This cultural mediation program is part of Espacio Open, specifically its Fab Lab Bilbao digital creation and manufacturing center.
A maximum of 4 local, national or international projects will be selected, which must develop a maker-based artistic-technological project that can be created, exhibited and disseminated using free tools.
The result of the residency will form part of the exhibition space of the International Festival of Creative Technologies Bilbao Maker Faire 2022, therefore a first prototype must be developed before November 1, 2022, and the result may form part of other dissemination and communication actions that are established from Fab Lab Bilbao/Espacio Open.

TO WHOM IS IT ADDRESSED
The Maker Ekintzaile creation residences are aimed at people from the artistic field, creation, entrepreneurship, engineering, design, maker, etc., with a work development project within the framework of digital culture in the production phase. They are intended to accompany artistic creation around the critical use of technology through the tools and techniques of a Fab Lab.


OBJECTIVE OF THE RESIDENCES
This call for residencies pursues the following objectives:
- Welcoming and accompanying creators, artists, technologists and professional technology producers, offering spaces for manufacturing and digital creation in the Basque Country.
- Offer a space where creators can enter into an immersive process, equipped with machinery and tools to carry out a creation and research process, facilitating a professional ecosystem.
- Make visible the creative work of these creative projects using the own digital and face-to-face networks in which Espacio Open participates as Fab Lab Bilbao.
- Stimulate technology-based artistic production.
- Generate new learning, research and experimentation environments for local artistic agents.
- Promote creation as an engine for disseminating knowledge.

TERMS
With the aim of promoting local talent, 50% of the places are reserved for creators from Euskal Herria.
There are 2 registration modalities:
- PROFESSIONALS: For creators with experience and a journey within the maker culture.
- NOVELS: Aimed at incipient creators, unfamiliar with Fab Labs environments.

RESOURCES
Residents will have:
-Comprehensive unlimited access to the Fab Lab Bilbao digital manufacturing center for the duration of the residency.
-Resources and tools from the Fab Lab and other facilities of Espacio Open and associates in the Old Artiach Biscuit Factory.
-Professional accompaniment to guarantee the technical realization of the project.
-Access to other professional training programs of the center.
-€2,500 maximum/project for accommodation, transportation, materials not available at the creation center, creator fee, etc. (Professionals: €1,500 creator + €1,000 expenses/materials, Novices: €500 creator + €500 expenses/materials)

SELECTION CRITERIA
Proposals that follow the following principles will be considered:
- Emphasize some of the social, political and/or economic issues behind the growing omnipresence of algorithms and black box technologies in our environment.
- Make significant contributions to collective knowledge by creating free software or hardware tools with great innovative artistic potential.
- Transfer knowledge and innovative techniques in the Basque creative fabric.
- Facilitate the understanding of this change in the technological cycle in all types of audiences. Extend reflection and the use of tools that allow us to understand how technologies work to other groups, with an emphasis on audiences in the humanities and arts.
- Promote the visibility of creative technologies in CCIs.

COMMITMENT
-Concrete the proposed idea in a work, performance, installation or other support.
-Release at least part of the design of the work in free and open formats that allow the reuse of the generated knowledge.
-Give practical-theoretical training on the project during the residency.
-Participate in the evaluation and dissemination models of the project (interviews, media, photography, etc.)
-Participate in the final exhibition of the projects in Residence during Maker Faire Bilbao.
-Justify the expenses made through invoices.
-Deliver a descriptive report on the work developed in the residence.
-Visual and graphic documentation of the completed project.

DEADLINES
The term is one month from the opening.
Submission of proposal until March 18, 2022 (until 11:59 p.m.)
Execution of residence until December 31, 2022.
Maximum duration of residence 1 month.

ABOUT US
We are an ecosystem of creative and social projects with a positive social impact located since 2009 in the Old Biscuit Factory of Bilbao (Fábrica Artiach) in the neighborhood of La Ribera de Deusto / Zorrotzaurre. With more than 110,000 annual visitors, 12 workers and 2,000 m2 of facilities.

We work at the intersection between contemporary culture, technology and social issues. We develop our own projects in our spaces, as well as consulting and management projects and services for private or public entities. Our spaces host the Maker Faire Bilbao festival of creative technologies and the Fab Lab Bilbao digital creation and manufacturing center, among others.

We are founding members of the State network of CREFAB Digital Creation and Fabrication Centers, as well as of the Fab Foundation, a network of centers originally promoted by the MIT Media Lab. In addition, we are the European Regional Contact of the Burning Man network and we belong to the international network of Maker Faire festivals that take place in more than 300 cities around the world.
