The scholarship is the result of the desire from the trucking industry to give back to the community by helping high school and college students further their education. Qualifying students may receive a scholarship ranging from $200 to $1000 to assist them with tuition, fees and other program costs.
If awarded the scholarship, you must submit to Southwest Tech Student Services a thank you letter addressed to the Southern Utah Trucking Association and allow Southwest Tech Student Services to take your photo.
-Resident of Utah; priority will be given to residents of Beaver, Garfield, Iron, or Kane counties-Maintain satisfactory progress and attendance in the Professional Truck Driving course; failure to maintainsatisfactory progress or attendance will result in revocation of the award.
Selection Process:Student applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria
-Ability to benefit from the training and obtain a career in Professional Truck Driving-Financial need-Work history, related volunteer experience, or paid experience in Professional Truck Driving or other technical or tradecareers.
