Mission of 2nd Stage PDX:
The mission of 2nd Stage PDX is to inspire young actors to express themselves in a high level artistic experience with an ensemble of actors. Through artistic projects and a goal setting performance based program, 2nd Stage PDX is an ensemble of youth and teen actors co-created by students, and a student run organization. We believe that through a student run program, we can transform the arts for youth and teens to meet actors where they are in life.  

2nd Stage PDX is a new ensemble group. This group will have an increased focus on professionalism and a devotion to acting as a career. This ensemble will be made up of 9-17 actors, selected from grades 6-8 (with select exceptions for other grades). As an ensemble group, we will be writing the RGMS winter play, as well as putting on other projects independent of the rest of the RGMS Drama. These projects will range from outreach volunteer work, fundraising for the RGMS Drama Program, and a 4th production within the RGMS Drama Program. This group will also be provided with resources and opportunities for auditions outside of RGMS, including getting a headshot and creating an acting resume. This group was co-founder by Ella Higgins and Katie Douglas and will be student-run by the co-founders, and a leadership board. Ian LaFrenz will play the leadership role as our high school consultant and producer. Jules Moorhouse will be our adviser and adult supervision and Lynn Stahr will be our adult producer consultant. The group will meet once a week through zoom and will create a high end performance experience for the more serious actor. The auditions will consist of cold-read of a scene, a prepared scene, individual singing and movement sessions, and an individual interview. In order to create this ensemble group there will be a one time yearly fee to go towards the costs of projects, and future shows. The annual one time fee of $350 will be due by December 1st (financial assistance available upon request to the producer). In these trying times, it is very difficult to do for a student-run group, without your support. Auditions will be held on October, 12th and 13th on zoom.  A website with all of the information will be available by the end of this week. 2nd Stage PDX is truly something we are passionate and excited about! We hope to see you at auditions!
