At this years CPHL AGM all Board Positions will be up for election. Below is a brief description of each position
President: Leading the Way
As the President, you will be at the forefront of the CPHL. You’ll oversee all board activities, be the Chairperson for all meetings & guide decision-making processes. You will ensure the affairs of the CPHL are conducted according to our By-laws & act as the primary spokesperson for the CPHL. This role requires excellent leadership and communication skills. It’s a challenging position, but the satisfaction of delivering positive change is immeasurable. You can expect a monthly time commitment of approximately 10 hours during the season. Additionally you will be expected to attend each board meeting. (Usually around 8 meetings a year, each lasting around 90 minutes.)
Vice President: Supporting the President
The Vice President’s role is to back up the President in their responsibilities and preside over meetings in their absence. This position requires a keen understanding of the CPHLs needs and the ability to collaborate effectively with the entire board. You’ll be an essential pillar of support and leadership. You can expect a monthly time commitment of approximately 8 hours during the season. Additionally you will be expected to attend each board meeting. (Usually around 8 meetings a year, each lasting around 90 minutes.)
Secretary: Keeping Things Organized
As the Secretary, you’ll be responsible for managing communications, taking meeting minutes, providing notice of Board meetings to Directors and preparing an agenda for each meeting. It will be your responsibility to ensure smooth information flow within the board and the CPHL. This position demands excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. You’ll play a vital role in keeping everyone informed and connected. You can expect a monthly time commitment of approximately 8 hours during the season. Additionally you will be expected to attend each board meeting. (Usually around 8 meetings a year, each lasting around 90 minutes.)
Treasurer: Balancing the Books
The Treasurer takes charge of the budget, financial records, and reporting. You will be responsible for dealing with all league banking, everything related to filling league tax returns & preparing / distributing funds when required. If you have a knack for numbers and financial management, this role allows you to make crucial financial decisions and maintain the financial health of the CPHL. Experience with accounting procedures, practices & knowledge of government requirements is a desired skill-set. It’s a very time-intensive position, you can expect at least a monthly time commitment of approximately 10 hours during the season. Additionally you will be expected to attend each board meeting. (Usually around 8 meetings a year, each lasting around 90 minutes.)
Directors at Large: Your Creative Input Counts
Directors at large have the opportunity to bring their unique perspectives and expertise to the board. These roles involve planning events, assisting with event coordination, and spearheading new ideas. If you’re looking to be directly involved in the CPHL and help improve the league, this is the role for you. You can expect a monthly time commitment of approximately 3 hours during the season. Additionally you will be expected to attend each board meeting. (Usually around 8 meetings a year, each lasting around 90 minutes.)
