The 2025 Annual Community Stand Down-Information & Resources Fair will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at the V.F.W. Post 6018 located at 116 Chance Street in Downtown Fayetteville, NC. This one-day event is designed as a “one-stop” resource fair where individuals can access services to meet their most basic needs. Available resources will include: education & employment support; health & dental screenings; legal assistance; mental health services; veteran services; housing resources and assistance; and much more. Our mission is to provide critical support to our neighbors during their time of need.

The planning committee is currently seeking volunteers to assist in the following areas. Please select the service area where you would like to volunteer your time. If you select more than one service area please number your preferences. Please note that volunteer assignments are not guaranteed. Placement is based upon first arrival basis on the day of the event and assignments may change as needed to facilitate the event.

Placement is based upon first arrival basis on the day of the event and assignments may change as needed to facilitate the event.

Unload City of Fayetteville Truck - Volunteers will assist with unloading tents, tables, and chairs from the City of Fayetteville truck. This assignment requires heavy lifting. Volunteers are asked to arrive promptly at 8:00 a.m. and to wear comfortable footwear and weather appropriate attire are recommended.

Event & Tent Setup - Volunteers will assist participating organizations with unloading materials from vehicles and provide support with setup as needed. Volunteers are asked to arrive promptly at 7:30 a.m. so that setup can be completed by 8:45 a.m. Comfortable footwear and weather appropriate attire are recommended.

Client Navigators - Navigators will be stationed in the client check-in area to assist guests throughout the event. They will escort clients to service areas and remain with them from check-in until check-out. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 8:30 a.m. and to wear comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate attire.

Food Server - Volunteers will assist with serving lunch and engaging with guests as they receive their meal. Volunteers will also collect guest tickets. All volunteers are asked to arrive by 11:00 a.m. and to wear comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate attire.

Clean Up Crew - Volunteers will assist with maintaining a clean environment during the event and participate in cleanup afterward, including collecting trash and tidying event areas. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 9:00 a.m. and to wear comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate attire.

Event Break Down Load City of Fayetteville Truck - Volunteers will assist with breaking down the event, including reloading the City of Fayetteville truck. This role may involve lifting and moving heavy objects. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 11:30 a.m. and to wear comfortable footwear and weatherappropriate attire.

Runners & Volunteer Service Provider Support - Volunteers will assist with event needs throughout the day serving water to volunteers, clients and service providers. (Volunteers will need to arrive at 8:30 am and wear comfortable shoes & weather appropriate clothing)
