This form is for GameFace Training to get an idea of how many middle schoolers would be interested in sports performance training before or after school. Once we have an idea of how many interested students there are, we will look to open hours before and potentially after school for just this age group.
GameFace Training partnered with Edina High School this past summer to offer sports performance training to interested teams and programs, as well as proctor their wellness center during allotted hours during the day. This reaches a broad range of students, but we felt that we needed to get more involved with the youth that will be fueling these high school programs in upcoming years.
We are a sports performance company, meaning we train the entire athlete. From movement programs (linear speed, lateral speed, plyometrics, power development, change of direction and footwork, and recovery) to fully tailored and specific lifting programs that complement their movement program. Starting from a young age and building a foundation of athleticism can help to eliminate that "awkward" stage that most kids face when they hit their growth spurts. Getting this age group started in our programs at an earlier stage of development will encourage a fully tailored athlete in years to follow.
Our programs range from an hour to an hour and a half depending on what your athlete is signed up for. We encourage every athlete to start with movement for at least a month or two before we test them to see if they are foundationally sound to begin a strength program. We will never send an athlete into a weight room if they are not physically mature enough to begin strength training. If they have a history with strength training we can test them to see if we believe they are capable of a full sports performance program. Movement programs are an hour in length, full performance programs (movement and strength training) are an hour and a half in length.
We are extremely excited to work with this age group and help to continue fueling Edina Athletics!
