We are a collective of individuals and organizations standing in solidarity with Asian massage workers. We have heard their voices and speak out today in support and resistance..
We demand an end to anti-Asian racism, discrimination, and the systemic oppression of Asian massage workers. Their dignity and basic human rights must be respected.
For years, Asian massage workers have faced ongoing racial and occupational discrimination. Government authorities, law enforcement, and certain anti-trafficking groups often use “anti-human trafficking” label as an excuse to criminalize them, leading to raids, harassment, fines, forced closures, and loss of livelihood. These are clear human rights violations that expose workers to harm, violence, and even death.
We call for an end to all forms of discrimination, including racism, sexism, classism, xenophobia and whorephobia. The government and soicety must recognize Asian massage workers as valued members of society and uphold their labor rights, personal safety, and dignity through fair and respectful policies.
We speak out not only to oppose anti-Asian hate, but also to resist the long-standing injustice and violence against Asian massage workers.
We demand that the government, politicians and anti-trafficking organizations immediately stop using “anti-human trafficking” or other excuses to target Asian massage parlours. End the raids, harassment, and violations of workers’ rights. Stop using unjust regulations to fine or forcibly shut down their workplaces. The government must remove the excessive barriers and systemic racism embedded in the regulation of massage parlours. Any laws or policies affecting massage parlours should prioritize the well-being and rights of the workers. Massage workers themselves must be at the center of shaping the policies that impact their lives and livelihoods.
Massage is a vital part of Asian heritage and a source of livelihood and care. We urge the public to recognize and honor its cultural and the contributions of Asian massage workers.
Let us work together to end the discrimination against Asian massage workers, and build a society where all workers can live and work in safety, dignity, and freedom.
