Last year 250 UCD students, faculty and staff took part in 65 Festival events which showcased the innovation, creativity and research that happens on campus to an audience of 12,000 people.
This year we would like to invite nominations for Festival programme content from the UCD Community through an online submission form which will help the Festival working group choose programme content. We welcome ideas from faculty, staff and students for research demonstrations, talks, workshops, behind-the-scene tours, installations, music and dance performances.
As you know we are currently rolling out the new UCD proposition Think Bigger and in relation to your festival content development we ask that you might consider how you might amplify your content development to reflect Think Bigger. https://thinkbigger.ucd.ie/
We are committed to producing a Festival that ensures our visitors have a wonderful experience and leave with powerful UCD memories. The Festival also contributes to UCD’s public engagement objectives as it provides staff and students a platform to develop skills in public engagement, and experience a range of new perspectives on their work.
You will find a 2018 Festival – guidance document at http://festival.ucd.ie/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/UCD-Festival-2018-Call-for-Content-Guidelines.pdf which lists the objectives of the Festival and help you decide the sort of activities and content that we are looking for in 2018. It also provides outline details relating to funding and resourcing.
