2021-2022 Bumpus 7th GRADE Course Selection

Welcome to the Class of 2027!!!

This form is to be completed by upcoming 7th grade students with their parent's guidance.

All students will be assigned to an interdisciplinary team for English Language Arts, Social Studies - Citizenship/Geography, Science - Life Science, and either Math 7, Accelerated Math 7, or Accelerated Math Team 7 plus a Physical Education class.

Additionally, 7th grade students will be able to take TWO periods of electives - Any combination of the following: Band, Choir, or Exploring My Talents.

The Exploring My Talents elective features a nine-week rotation through the following course options: Art, Theater, Digital Photography, Exploratory Spanish, Exploratory French, Family Living, Computer Science, Multimedia, General Music, Debate, Health Education, Engineering, or Approaches to Learning (ATL). Course Descriptions are provided in the email and on the website.

Please consider carefully and seriously your selection and make a firm commitment to take a year long course (Band and/or Choir) and/or explore through a nine-week rotations. Again, two elective periods so any combination of two.

Accelerated Math 7 is offered in 7th grade. The 2019 Alabama State Math Course of Study brought about this change. Students, after discussion with their parents and teachers, may sign up for this course. Please see Accelerated Math Readiness Form in the body of your email and on the Bumpus website for guidance in making this decision. The readiness form does not have to be submitted...it is just guidance for students and parents. *
