--- Level 1 Introduction to Playwork --- 2 Days ---

The Agored Cymru Level 1 Playwork is an introductory training course for those wanting to gain a better understanding of the importance of children’s play and how playworkers work with children.

Learners will gain knowledge about

• The benefits of play
• How adults can support play
• Risk and play
• What stops children playing
• Creating stimulating play spaces

This course is accredited and learners will complete a workbook in class – as it is an introductory course it does not qualify learners to work in a registered playwork setting.

Is is aimed at –

• Staff who are working with children and would like to build their knowledge about play
• People under 16 who would like to volunteer in a play setting
• Parents
• Those returning to study who would like to progress on to the Level 2 Award in Playwork Practice qualification

--- Level 2 Award in Playwork Practice (L2APP) --- 3 Days ---

The L2APP is intended to provide a good foundation of knowledge of children's play and a playwork approach for practitioners working face to face with children. They include: youth workers, school staff including lunchtime supervisors, hospital play, community development staff and family support.

--- Level 3 Award in Managing a Holiday Playscheme --- 4 Days ---

Managing a Holiday Play Scheme is a Level 3 Award intended to qualify those registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) as the Person in Charge of a holiday playscheme,
As well as supporting the professional Development of staff managing short-term provision to meet the National Minimum Standards (NMS) and CSSIW legal requirements it will provide the benefit of developing an understanding of the importance of play to children's development and how it may be facilitated in a variety of settings.

--- The Award in Delivering Dynamic Playwork Training (ADDaPT) ---

The Award in Delivering Dynamic Playwork Training (ADDaPT) provides learners with an opportunity to explore interactive and playful techniques to use when delivering playwork training and qualifications. It is intended to support the high level of training delivery that we expect of playwork tutors in Wales.
To be accepted onto the ADDaPT course learners must hold a teaching qualification such as the Award in Education and Training (AET) or Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS). Learners will also be expected to demonstrate occupational competence in playwork, this can be through experience in the sector or by completing the Level 2 Award in Playwork Practice.
The course includes content on:
• Understanding the importance of meeting a range of learning needs and preferences
• Understanding a range of playful and participative methods for teaching playwork
• Designing a programme of learning for playwork
• Reflecting on own practice.

Further Qualifications
We are not currently offering the Level 2 or 3 P3 Award, Certificate or Diploma in Playwork.
