Next Up in Arms Control Pitch Submission Form
Do you want to contribute to the conversation surrounding nuclear arms control and non-proliferation? Do you feel like your voice is one that often isn't highlighted in national security or arms control? If so, we want to publish your work.  We're looking for the latest ideas, out-of-the-box thinking, and thought provoking perspectives that can move the conversation toward the next of steps that will reduce the danger of war and improve global security.  The Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation is launching our Next Up in Arms Control initiative, where we spotlight the writing of anyone interested in arms control and non-proliferation to collect the latest, non-traditional thinking on an ever-present quandary: how do we make the world a safer place?

Some notes: We hope to respond to each pitch within a week of submission, but we cannot guarantee that turnaround all the time! The best way to get a quicker response is to identify succinctly why you have a unique perspective and be clear and concise with your pitch. A favorable response to a pitch also does not guarantee that we will accept your final submission.

Pitch Guidelines
Here's where you get to pitch your idea. In three sentences or less, tell us what your story will be about. We're looking for commentary around 600-1000 words that concisely explains a problem in nuclear security and/or other arms control issues from a fresh perspective. Avoid being too jargon-heavy or "wonky”, we aim to create accessible content for interested people at all levels of prior knowledge. If you wonder if it’s too wonky, ask yourself if your neighbor or a random passerby could understand what you’re writing. If not, see what you can replace with more well-known words.
