Counter Culture Coffee is committed to supporting education and to creating coffee people at each stage of the supply chain, and the Seeds fund helps us to strengthen our relationships with coffee producers and cooperatives. From among the applications we receive, we select between two and four projects per grant cycle, with a cycle in spring and in winter. Most projects receive between $3,000 and $5,000 USD.
The Seeds fund is available to individuals, cooperatives, or organizations that support producers with whom we have an existing purchasing relationship. Strong applications have clear goals, provide specifics about how fund will be used and make a strong case for the environmental or social benefit that will result from the project. Examples of successful applications in the past include projects built around: organic agriculture practices, climate change adaptation, youth involvement, food security, farmworker support, access to education and technical training, income diversification, and gender equity.
If selected, applicants should, at minimum, plan for the following:
- 6 months from project start date: Providing updates on the progress of the project.
- 1 year from project start date: Providing progress or confirmation of completion of the project, as well as any data that helps us understand the impact of this project on your business. Pictures and videos are encouraged.
This application is meant to be simple and accessible. We ask that it be filled out completely and also as concisely as possible. Please email your coffee buyer contact here at Counter Culture or
