We created this form so you can feedback on which kind of volunteering you would like to do. There are several roles that may require your help. You are free to chose with what, when and how you want to help us. We need assistance with
Throughout the week we have certain slots that are filled with our live program. During those hours, we receive program makers, dj's, guests and other visitors. The main role of the Host is to open and close, receive all visitors in the studio and make sure the studio is clean and ready for streaming. The amount of hours per week depend on your preferences, however, they can be short (1-2 hours) or longer (4-6 hours). This mostly depends on the programme of the day. You are free to chose which days you want to host, and we will try to create a match between host and program maker as much as possible.
Tasks expected of a host:
- Open the studio
- Keep studio tidy
- Provide tea/coffee/water
- Social media highlights
- Technical support
- Close studio properly
2. Events
Rararadio wants to focus more on events, therefore we are looking for an independent RARA Events team that functions separately from the studio, while creating revenue for the radio so we can keep growing. This also means that there will be a (small) expense allowance for the volunteers involved. Currently, we are focusing on two different types of events:
- The "RARA ROADSHOW" is a mobile pop-up stream that we can set up anywhere, anytime. It is radio on the go, with the idea of allowing any other organisation to broadcast their events on our stream. It is almost always different every time! We've done roadshows at local festivals, at release events, at birthdays, at restaurants, at club houses, you name it.
- "RARA CLUBNIGHTS" are party events organised, programmed an hosted by Rararadio. At least once or twice a year, we want to throw an awesome party, for which we can always use help! We're looking for all kinds of volunteers; organisers/managers/builders/bartending/entrance/security/cleaners etc. etc.
3. Tech SupportOur tech team supports the technical infrastructure that ensures the radio streaming. Our on-line radio needs a lot of technical support behind the scene. For example, we need to maintain the equipment in the studio(s) and the processes behind the live stream and recordings. If you have any affinity with audio equipment, streaming software/hardware, programming, repairing etc. etc. you are most welcome to help us out! As part of the Tech team you will get a thorough understanding of how our online radio works behind the screens and help fix in case something breaks.
4. Communication
RARARADIO is a online radiostation, this means we need to maintain a proper online presence and be active on social media. This implies that a lot of marketing and PR related work is involved and roles and skills required vary widely. Some examples of skills not limited to the list below:
- Social Media strategy & management
- Content creating
- Branding & Graphic design
- Announcements
- Event promotion & branding
- Creation of Jingles
- etc.
As part of the communication team you will help create daily/weekly content, promote unique RARA events, and develop and manage social media strategies.
