Wicare’s Women of Strength
Take a moment to reflect on a special woman you know.
She became a widow when her husband passed away. You know she had to deal with the pain, the loss, and the disorientation. She also had to shoulder the financial and family responsibilities.
You know of her struggles. But you also perceived a quiet strength in her. An inner strength that has somehow enabled her to embrace the pain, conquer the challenges, and live victoriously without the pillar of her life. As she overcame the odds, she began to reach out to others struggling with grief and loss.
If you are inspired by this remarkable woman, give her the recognition she deserves by nominating her to be one of Wicares ‘Women of Strength’. 20 outstanding widows will be selected and each will receive SGD$800 cash and invitation to Wicare’s 20th Anniversary Dinner. Submit your nomination form by 25 September 2018.
Wicare's ‘Women of Strength’ is a public awareness campaign by Wicare Support Group, in commemoration of its 20th anniversary. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the struggles of the widows and at the same time, give hope to the bereaved that it is possible to live a life of purpose.
About Wicare Support Group
Wicare Support Group is a charity formally established in Singapore in 1998 to help Widows and their children cope with grief. Currently, it serves more than 700 widow members and their children. *Submission terms & guidelines *
a) Nominated widows must be Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents (PR) based in Singapore.
b) Nominator must know the nominee personally and be willing to connect Wicare to the widow if she is selected as one of the winners. Please note that at time of submission, Wicare does not require the contact details of the widow.
c) 20 winning entries will be featured in our publicity platforms including (but not limited to) print, website, online publications and newsletters.
d) Wicare reserves the right to disclose and publish the name, submission content, and particulars of the 20 winning entries only. The 20 selected widows will also receive complimentary Wicare’s membership.
e) Winners must consent to be featured by signing a media consent form.
f) Winners must be able to meet for face-to-face interview with Wicare’s staff.
g) Winners are required to attend the prize presentation on 10 Nov 2018.
h) Submission of online nomination is from 1 to 25 Sep 2018. Late entries will not be entertained.
