LOT Scholarship Application Instructions
The NBMBAA Atlanta Chapter awards scholarships to deserving high school seniors in the Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, strong communication skills, and leadership ability. All application materials must be received by 11pm EDT on June 30, 2018
Applicants must:
• Be an African-American student
• Be enrolled as a high school senior
• Be a student in the NBMBAA Atlanta LOT program
• Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average
• Complete Finalist Interview if selected as a finalist
• Be a citizen of the United States
• Attend Scholarship Awards Dinner in November 2018
• Submit all application materials by 11pm EDT on June 30, 2018
Recipients receive:
• Scholarship award of $1,500
• Two complimentary Scholarship Awards Dinner registrations
Recipients are required to:
• Enroll full-time (e.g., 12 semester hours) in a 4-year degree granting program at a regionally accredited university
• Agree to participate in limited public relations activities
• Submit a personal biography
• Share their story

The theme for the Atlanta Chapter 2018 National Black MBA Association Scholarship Program is “One Voice – One Mission:
Determined…Empowered…Tenacious…Respected…Objective...Inspirational…Trusted”. 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the National Black MBA Association® (NBMBAA®) conference which started in the “Motor City”. Since inception of the NBMBAA®, our “one mission” rings true, to promote educational and economic empowerment for Black Americans. Our commitment to exploring best practices in leadership and career focused programming has been the inspirational catalyst that has guided members and conference attendees to reach their full potential. Bringing our conference back to Detroit is symbolic of our shared resilience and determination. Our conference agenda resonates the input from the “one voice” of our members where we leverage the resources and talents of our trusted business partners to achieve our main objective of educating and developing determined, empowered, tenacious, respected, objective, trusted and inspirational leaders! You can trust that the NBMBAA® 40th Annual Conference & Exposition in the “Come Back City” will be the most memorable one yet.

Essay Question:
“One Voice – One Mission: Determined…Empowered…Tenacious…Respected…Objective...Inspirational…Trusted” could mean:
o Being determined and/or tenacious to improve your know-how and demonstrating your value to keep pace with accelerating expectations
o Being empowered to collaborate with those outside of your organization (research) while maintaining objectivity to keep your organization (research) on the cutting edge
o Creating an inspirational or trusted work environment that adapts to ever-changing business conditions with speed and agility to enhance your organization's success.

With this in mind, what is your plan for taking your leadership to the next level? How will you adapt your leadership practices to a fast-paced, connected era? Include personal stories, candid advice, and instructive examples that have influenced your performance and leadership strategy. You may also include research and evidence to support your theories or conclusions and to complement your work experience.

TRANSCRIPT(S):
Transcripts are required for all coursework. Please send an unofficial copy of your most recent transcript to Scholarship@atlbmba.org, or Choose Files (at the end of the application) to include Application Material Attachments.. An official transcript may be requested if you are selected as a scholarship finalist.
PHOTOGRAPHS
Submit a professional-looking headshot in jpg to Scholarship@atlbmba.org, or Choose Files (at the end of the application) to include Application Material Attachments. The image should be at least 1024 x 768.
LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION:
High school teacher or community leader must submit the recommendation letter to Scholarship@atlbmba.org. The recommendation letter must be on high school letterhead or business letterhead and include the referrer’s name, phone number, and e-mail address.
LOT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION AGREEMENT
The LOT Scholarship Application Agreement must be submitted to Scholarship@atlbmba.org. The Agreement Section of the LOT Scholarship Application Agreement must be completed by your parent if you are a high school senior. Send an e-mail request to Scholarship@atlbmba.org with Subject: Request LOT Scholarship Application Agreement. We will send the application agreement to you in e-mail.
