Life Management 2026-2027
Thank you for your interest in applying for the Sequoia Middle School's Life Management, a co-taught elective. This is a year-long elective at Sequoia Middle School!

A little bit about our class:

A co-taught class designed to promote inclusion, acceptance, and FUN, all while working with a partner to complete hands-on, art-based activities. Through these projects, we explore topics such as kindness, friendship, self-care, teamwork, responsibility, and so many more! We've also been known to celebrate EVERY holiday there is... ever heard of National Bubble Wrap Day, because we have :)

Our class follows a "peer mentor" model in which students will be put into buddy teams and serve as a friend and role model to another student in the class. In Life Management, we value and appreciate everyone's strengths and different abilities. Many students in our class use communication devices, mobility devices, and sensory supports to help them in their learning. As a mentor, it is expected that you are understanding of these differences and that you learn to support your partner.

While this class is lucky enough to have TWO teachers each period (there's 3 of us all together), we really want this to be a student-run class. With this being said, we are looking for students who are leaders! We look for students that are comfortable working with others, set good examples through their behavior and choices on campus, and those who may want to take over and teach a lesson for the day :) We are big fans of music and dance breaks in Life Management, so we are looking for mentors that don't mind getting a little bit silly!

This unique class is an excellent opportunity to meet and work with all kinds of students and form friendships that extend beyond the classroom!

We look forward to meeting our next group of mentors :)
