Application for Farmers Looking to Sell to Regional Food Banks Outside of Portland Metro
In the face of the COVID-19 crisis, the state of Oregon has approved additional emergency funding to regional food banks due to the increased need for food assistance. Now through June 5th, some Regional Food Banks are looking to purchase produce, grains, meats, and other food products from small/mid-scale growers. This form is to centralize that information and get producers connected to the regional food bank in their area.  This form is not meant to replace or compete with efforts by local food system organizations and farmers who are already connected to their regional food bank, but rather fill gaps in collecting and sharing information.

This application serves as a way to both identify growers who have lost sales due to the COVID-19 health crisis and also identify growers that would be interested in selling to Regional Food Banks beyond this crisis. We have an opportunity to create new partnerships and show how food security and access to food is so closely tied to having strong, resilient local food producers.

Please complete the following questions regarding farm location and product information to help Regional Food Banks assess their ability to purchase. To be transparent, we want to acknowledge that Food Banks have to consider many factors - type of item, price, and quantity - and that many items farmers want to sell may fall outside of that range.  You may not be contacted by a regional food bank.

We also want to highlight that donations are also accepted with the opportunity to benefit from The Oregon Crop Donation Tax Credit (up to 15% of the wholesale value) and receive a federal tax deduction at the end of the year. Please fill out the following questions intending to donate, sell, or a combination of the two.

This form is not for farmers interested in selling in the Portland Metro area.
