Music and Methods
We teach  Four-Arts approach to learning which includes note reading, improvising,
composing, and arranging. This allows us to reach all styles of learning – visual, aural and
kinesthetic – providing confidence building experiences for all students. Students are taught
stimulating, thorough, and graduated coursework that includes rhythm exercises, theory,
technique, music history, favorite classics and contemporary pieces. Once a student has reached
late-intermediate level, they can be invited into a private lesson slot, if desired. Private students
still attend a monthly group class to keep up their performing and ensemble skills.

Music Class Information
Each class is 45 minutes long (30 minute class for preschoolers) and has 3-8 students. Each student has their own full size digital piano. Children enjoy learning and progress more rapidly in a fun, stress-free, music class
environment. Friendships develop and the joy of sharing music is experienced. Students are
grouped according to age (for beginners) and ability (for int/advanced students.) We have an
open door policy -- parents are welcome to visit and observe at any time.

Payment Policy
A non-refundable book fee of one months’ tuition is due at the time of enrollment and every
subsequent August, during our registration period. Tuition is based on a 12-month schedule;
divided into 12 monthly payment installments and remains the same each month. Tuition is
based on enrollment, not attendance, reserving your slot throughout the year, whether the student
attends classes or not. Tuition does not change regardless of the actual number of lessons per
month. (See yearly calendar for details.) Refunds will not be given to students who withdraw
before the month ends.

Tuition will be paid by automatic credit card payment and will be debited on the 1st of each month.
All students are required to set up autopayments upon enrollment. All charges will appear on
your bank or credit card statement as being from Musicality Schools. A $25 late fee will be
added if tuition is not paid by the 5th of the month. As with any business, costs are calculated to
provide a high-quality service to students, provide a livelihood for its employees, and ensure that
the business can be sustained in order to continue serving students. There will be a small, yearly
price increase in fees. This is simply to keep up with cost of living increases.

Your August tuition payment will be your book fee payment for the upcoming year, so you’re
paying for 11 months of tuition and receiving 12 months of instruction.
Refer a friend and receive $50 credit added to your account.

Year-Round Course
Sept-May: We teach a 28-week course and follow the school calendar. We are not able to offer
tuition reductions or makeup classes if a child is absent.

June-Aug: We teach an 8-week course. Because we are a group class studio, it’s important that
each student stays current and doesn’t fall behind. During the summer months, our weekly
schedule will continue, but our focus will be on creative approaches to learning and solidifying
skills that we may not have time for during the school year. Past themes have included UNLV
ensemble team prep, body percussion, bucket drumming, pop and movie music, composition and
Note Ninjas. Summer classes give your student a chance to relax from the stress of recital prep
and re-energize with new music and focuses.

Because of family vacations and travel, we will be extremely flexible with our make-up policy
during the months of June, July, and August, allowing you to attend different classes as long as
you receive instructor approval ahead of time. Please see yearly calendar for details.

The door is always open if you choose to leave and then return at a later time, but please note
that there will be a $40 re-registration fee upon returning. This is to cover administration fees to
get your student onboarded again.

Practicing
In order to keep up with the rest of the class, all students are required to practice each song twice
daily, Monday-Friday. Assignments and practice goals will be listed in each student’s PracticeSpace
account. Parents must accept their responsibility in seeing that the student checks their  PracticeSpace
account once per week for assignments and completes the required practicing. Consistent lack of
practicing will result in a phone call to parents. If it does not improve, the student will be
dismissed.

Student Conduct
Group piano classes are meant to be fun as we play and learn together but we want to be
respectful of each others' time. If there is a behavior problem with a student, we will first give
the student a warning. The second time, we'll notify parents. If there is no improvement, the
student will be dismissed.

Missed Lessons
No tuition credits or make-up lessons are given from Sept-May. We will always have the
updated assignment and resources posted in your student’s  PracticeSpace account. Students are
expected to stay current with their assignments.

No tuition credits are given June-Aug, but our make-up policy will be very flexible, allowing
you to attend different classes as long as you receive instructor approval ahead of time.

Out of respect to others, please do not bring your student to the studio if they display any signs of
illness, including, but not limited to, coughing, sneezing, sore throat, vomiting, nausea, fever,
rashes, or diarrhea. We reserve the right to send any sick student home without advance notice.

Recitals
We hold spring showcase recitals in May which include solo and group performances by our
students, along with awards presentations. We also have class recitals held during regular class
time on the last class in December. These recitals are fun and casual as the students perform
some of the music they have learned that semester. Students may also perform a solo during the
class recital but are not required to do so. We hold a Halloween street recital in my driveway (a
favorite!), Galleria Mall Christmas performance, summer nursing home tour, National
Federation of Music Clubs Junior Solo Festival in the spring and Ensemble Festival in the fall.
We offer plenty of performance opportunities which are always optional, but a great way to build
your child’s confidence. There will be no extra fees for performances except for NFMC festivals,
which are not required.
