Per the Mighty Bulldog Band Handbook:

"Attendance Policy

-Students are REQUIRED to be at all band functions unless otherwise stated by the Directors.

-Absences shall be considered excused or unexcused.

-Excused absences include a medical note signed by the attending physician, a funeral with an obituary, and other reasons as state laws permit.

-Unexcused absences include failure to attend rehearsal without advanced notice, family vacation, lack of proper documentation for an absence, etc.

-Circumstances beyond the control of a student affect whether an absence is considered excused or unexcused. -Extenuating circumstances include:
o Personal illness.
o Sudden illness or death in the immediate family.
o A family emergency.
o An unforeseen or unavoidable instance that requires immediate attention.

-To receive full credit each week, a student must attend 90% of announced rehearsals.
o A student who attends fewer than 90% of announced rehearsals will receive a ten-point deduction in credit for their participation for every unexcused absence from a rehearsal.

-Students who are late to rehearsals and or performances for any reason will run laps.
o Tardiness for every 5 minutes after the commencement of rehearsal accrues one lap around either our rehearsal field or stadium track.
o Tardiness past 15 minutes without proper documentation automatically accrues ten laps.
o Students must make up their laps before they return to rehearsal.

*Students must report an advanced absence to the Director via a written note, email, or the online “Advanced Absence Form'*

*Students must request an absence from a rehearsal at least 24 hours in advance.*

*Advanced absence from a performance must be requested at least 30 days in advance.*"
