Rappelling is a physically demanding job, and a high level of fitness is expected from all applicants. Rappel fitness minimums are as follows:
- 1.5 mile run in 11 minutes or less
- 7 pullups, 25 pushups, 2 minute plank
- 85 pound pack test (3 miles) in 90 minutes or less
- 110 pound packout in typical terrain.
