Executive Functioning Group for the self-employed queer
Join Emerson Delacroix, MACP, LLP, RYT-200, and other self-employed queer folx with ADHD for a 6-week virtual course on improving your executive functioning skills. The one hour class time will start Sunday, January 31, 2021, 1-2pm, and meet weekly.
You will learn how to accommodate your ADHD to improve your executive functioning, empowering you to finish the long overdue tasks, delegate, and improve mood. Each week we will start the hour with a brief mindfulness practice, then Emerson will provide knowledge and resources for the week's executive functioning topic (see agenda below). You will be ask to share something about your goals, tasks, and progress, providing some accountability. There will be time to share with each other, providing ways to solve the specific concerns you bring to group. We'll end with a few minutes of organization and planning for the week.
Week 1: Planning, prioritizing, and organizing
Week 2: Self monitoring and working memory
Week 3: Impulse and emotional self control
Week 4: Task initiation and focus
Week 5: Adaptable/flexible thinking
Week 6: Performance monitoring and review
I ask that you make a few commitments to yourself, me, and the group. Please be willing to do the following over our 6 weeks together, checking each one as you agree. These will be used as experiential learning for the course goals.
Have one physical S.M.A.R.T. goal you're working on. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable/Achievable, Realistic/Relevant, Time-limited/specific),
Track progress on three habits. (Preferably, one self-care habit, one routine/work-flow habit, and one hobby related habit.)
List and track progress on, personal and professional, one-time tasks you need/want to accomplish over the course.
Choose one area of executive functioning that's additionally challenging right now you're willing to brainstorm on with the group.
Provide other group members feedback or advice on how to accommodate their ADHD.
Attend and participate in all 6 classes. (I anticipate these being small classes, so you'll get lots of opportunities to share.)
