Complete this form to enter the ring! We will email you further details and reminders as the event approaches.
When: Saturday, March 14th | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Arrival: Please arrive by 4:15 PM for station setup.
The Mission: All proceeds support RefugeeOne, a local organization providing critical support to Chicago refugee families.
The Goal: Bring one full crockpot of your best chili and a serving spoon.
People’s Choice: Awarded to the chili that raises the most money. This includes the donation bucket, and any funds raised leading up to the event via the QR code from RefugeeOne (coming soon!).
Chef’s Choice: 1st Place, 2nd Place, and Runner-Up (judged on chili only).
The Quirky Ingredient Award (New!): To enter this category, include a "wild" ingredient not typically found in chili. The judges will award the recipe most improved by its addition. The judges will know your ingredient before tasting.
Homemade Only: No canned or store-bought chilis allowed.
Ingredients: Display a list of ingredients at your station for allergy safety (no secret recipe required).
The Setup: You’ll have a 3ft x 27in space. Decorations and signage are encouraged—just keep it neighborly!
Serving: We provide tasting cups, spoons, and napkins. You provide the chili and any extra garnishes (cheese, onions, etc.). If you bring garnishes, please bring serving spoons for those as well.
Banter Encouraged: Stay at your station to serve guests and "shamelessly" encourage donations to your bucket.
Double Duty: You are welcome to compete in both the Chili Cook-Off and the Bake-Off!
Invite the Community: This is a safe space hosted by Bethany UCC, an open and affirming church (ONA). We welcome all faiths, sexual and gender identities, and backgrounds.
Promote: We’ll send social media templates soon—please share them with your network!
Donate: Keep an eye out for the RefugeeOne QR code for digital donations.
