Entry-Level Finish Carpenter / Fabricator

Workshop Unknown Co (WUco), an architectural millwork company, is seeking a Finish Carpenter to join our team. Craftsmen, artists, and designers who want to transition from hobbyist to professional are encouraged to apply. This position focuses on the fabrication and installation of commercial and residential woodworking projects.

  • Status: Full-Time & Part-Time

  • Business Hours: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

  • Location: Omaha, Nebraska (Shop and local job sites)

  • Pay Range: $18 - $23 per hour (commensurate with experience)

  • Benefits: PTO, holiday pay, and cell phone paid after a successful 90-day probationary review.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, finish, and install custom architectural casework and wood product

  • Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality craftsmanship.

  • Assist with day-to-day job setup and pack out to keep the shop and project sites organized for production.

  • Maintain and organize woodworking tools, machinery, and materials for a safe and productive environment.

  • Assist in material preparation, including milling, sanding, cutting, and joining components for custom millwork.

  • Learn the lifecycle of production, moving from basic shop support to high-precision fabrication and professional finishing techniques.

What We Are Looking For
  • The Mindset: A problem-solver with critical thinking skills who is willing to learn and grow.

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of woodworking tools and techniques is a plus, as is the ability to read and understand construction drawings. If you don't have these skills yet, we can teach you.

  • Reliability: Show up and be ready to work.

  • Physicality: Comfortable on your feet all day and capable of lifting 50–75 lbs (e.g., sheets of ¾” plywood) regularly.  

Driver’s License: A valid license and reliable transportation to our shop and or job sites in Omaha are required.
