At htmelle, we believe that high school is a critical time for girls. Not only do they fall into a "high school trap" where they lose interest in STEAM and computer science, but they also have a hard time finding educational opportunities with peers who look like them. They fail to meet role models who can boost their confidence and help shape their image of who they can become. Evidence shows that girls with women mentors in their lives not only have better retention in STEM majors, but more ambitious aspirations.
We are proud to announce that during this year's Program, we will match every girl with a female mentor— like you!
We are looking for mentors who are professional women that come from diverse industries, just as diverse as our girls' interests: science, tech, finance, design, business, and entrepreneurship. Or, maybe, they will be matched with a mentor that inspires an interest in something they didn't even know existed yet, because that is the power of support networks and collaborative learning spaces. So far, we already have 10+ girls signed up for Summer Program waiting to be matched up with mentors!
If you or someone in your network may have an interest in becoming an htmelle Mentor, we invite you to fill out the form below and join us!
