Part 1: In 2 Corinthians 12:1-7, Paul describes an excursion to the Third Heaven.  First, discuss what is meant by the Third Heaven?  Second, most Bible teachers believe that the man who was caught up to the Third Heaven was Paul himself.  What in this passage would give them that impression?  Paul wasn't sure if the man was in the body or out of the body, but God knows.  What word did Paul use to describe this location?  What was the purpose of the thorn in the flesh? *
Part 2: Multiple times the Scripture describes the current heaven as Paradise.  What does this word Paradise suggest to you about what the present heaven is like?  The Bible writers Paul in 2 Corinthians and John in Revelation 4 describe going to the present heaven.  This suggests that heaven is a place.  However, more is written about who we will be with in heaven rather than its location.  Why do you think this is the focus of Scripture? *
Part 3: Who are the inhabitants of heaven?  What do all the humans in heaven have in common?  What about those who have died before our time?  What do the Scriptures suggest about these individuals? *
Part 4: If human inhabitants in heaven can see, talk, have fingers to dip into water, and will be face-to-face with Christ, what does this suggest about our natures in heaven?  If our earthly physical bodies are in the grave, what does this suggest about our existence in the present heaven? *
Do you have any feedback on the third class/homework?  What worked for you?  What didn't work for you?
