Thank you for registering for our upcoming Black History Month Launch and Proclamation Event hosted in partnership with Community Race Relations Committee of Peterborough and the City of Peterborough !!
This event is on Thursday Feb 1st from 6pm-9pm at the Peterborough Public Library in the basement room. We will have Shanique Edwards - Lead Researcher for Black Mental Health Canada, Knowledge Specialist with CAMH and a Psychotherapist who specializes on racial trauma and BIPOC mental health, as our keynote speaker who will talk about the importance of prioritizing & supporting Black mental health and wellness.
Alongside Shanique, we will have Christine Maclin, local activist, Secretary/Treasurer for Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) and former UNIFOR Human Rights Director sharing her personal journey on navigating through mental health, self discovery and healing. We will end with a speech and performance from local activist, artist and performer Sahira Q.
