RISEF Judges
On Saturday, March 17, 2018, hundreds of young scientists will gather at CCRI in Warwick to present the results of their scientific investigations at the Rhode Island Science and Engineering Fair (RISEF). Students will compete for first, second, and third place awards, many special grants and scholarships. The top two senior division winners will represent Rhode Island at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh in May.

Essential to the success of the fair is an abundance of qualified judges who will listen to the students explain what they have done and encourage them to continue to pursue their interest in science. We need judges who are knowledgeable in their field and who are able to spend from about 11:30-3:30 on Saturday, March 17, interacting with students and giving them a positive experience. The more judges we are able to recruit, the better the experience will be both for the student and the judges. We encourage you to participate and to invite your colleagues, graduate students, and undergraduates with sufficient background to sign up as well.

Judging Categories *
Projects are divided into 22 categories. Go to the International Science and Engineering Fair website for detailed descriptions of the categories and subcategories: https://student.societyforscience.org/intel-isef-categories-and-subcategories. Please select up to five areas in which you are competent to judge.
Required
Are there any reasons that you would prefer to be assigned to projects in just one Division (Junior or Senior)? Please specify.
Junior Division Projects are submitted by students in middle and junior high schools, typically grades 6-8. Senior Division Projects are done by students in high school.(Note: Because there are many more Jr. projects, we are usually not able to grant requests for only Sr. projects.)
Your answer
If your child or other relative is participating in the competition, list the Division and Category
Your answer
Thank you for volunteering to serve as a RISEF judge.
Detailed instructions will be sent to judges by email about one week before the fair.
