Thank you for your interest in attending the 2022 Native Youth in Food and Agriculture Leadership Summit!

The 2022 Native Youth in Food and Agriculture Leadership Summit is open to American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian youth, ages 18-24 (including recently graduated high school seniors). Participants will be chosen to attend the 2022 Native Youth in Food and Agriculture Leadership Summit, which will be held in Fayetteville, AR, July 19-26th, 2022.

ABOUT THE 2022 SUMMIT
This year's Summit will build on previous Summits and include a NEW Policy Leadership Program. The 2022 Summit will be a skills-development focused event that will give attendees an opportunity to do a deep dive in a particular area of food and agricultural production or policy. These four subject matter areas are:

1) Agricultural Business and Finance;
2) Land Stewardship and Conservation;
3) Agricultural Law and Policy; and
4) Nutrition and Health.

While at the Summit, experts will lead instruction in each of these areas and participants will have the opportunity to learn skills to apply to a capstone project with a small group of peers. Following the completion of capstone projects, attendees will take part in a three-day student congress experience, which provides insight into the formation of federal agriculture policy that impacts Native farmers and ranchers by modeling a Senate or House agriculture committee.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
The health and safety of Summit attendees and staff is our highest priority. The COVID-19 pandemic will be monitored closely as the Summit approaches. We will be following University of Arkansas policies regarding masks at a minimum and COVID-19 vaccinations are highly encouraged. Complete policies will be shared prior to arrival.

This form is your application. You will need to apply for admission in at least TWO of those subject matter areas above, so pick the two that most interest you! If accepted, you will be admitted into ONE area.

Please double check to make sure all your information is correct before submitting — especially your email address! That's how we will communicate with you about your application status.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL CONFIRMING SUBMISSION. If you don't receive the confirmation email your application has not been submitted.

The FINAL deadline for ALL applications is April 17, 2022, at 11:59pm Central Time.
