Wayfinding Sign Survey – Walk Around Philadelphia
Walk Around Philadelphia creates cultural events that bring people together in shared  experiences that connect them to their own bodies, their neighbors, and the landscape of Philadelphia.

The ~100+ mile walk around the entire city border happens twice a year in February & September, with other programs throughout the year.

WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT:

We are working to build a network of trail signs at locations around the border of Philadelphia that invite passersby to explore the outer edges of the city.

One sign is already installed on Penn's Landing, and we've got permissions to install at several more strategic locations around the city's edge.

We'd love your input into this process!

Have you seen this sign on Penn's landing? *
If you've seen it, what do you think of it?
How familiar are you with Walk Around Philadelphia? *
Walk Around Philadelphia is a project that invites you to discover the city by exploring its edges.

The walk currently happens twice a year as an organized public event in February & September, along with offering custom perimeter-walk retreats, a DIY version that you can do anytime, and exhibits & other community events around the city's edge.

Organized by artist JJ Tiziou, Walk Around Philadelphia is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization.
I've just recently heard about it
I've been following the project for years

How about the prisons?

One location on the perimeter that feels significant & worth noting, but complicated and worth approaching particularly thoughtfully is the complex of prisons on State Road.

How do you think we should address those?
If you have any specific thoughts as to specific words to use (or not use), please let us know. Please keep in mind that anything included on these wayfinding signs needs to be short & concise in order to be legible with limited space.
